The Future of My Blog- You Decide

Gosh, busy day today. I thought this post would have to go up tomorrow, but I thought I’d do a Wednesday post before the new schedule (Monday and Thursday) kicks in next week. I’m debating the future of my blog and have decided to change things around. The reason? My year abroad. Plans are really switching up a notch as I prepare to move to France at the end of September. I’m feeling a combination of excitement and nervousness right now. The Future of My Blog In an ideal world I would love to continue posting 3 times a week, but with my language assistantship and experiencing all that France…

5 Things I Have Learnt from 2nd Year

If there’s something that I noticed more than anything during my 2nd year at uni, it is how different it was compared to my 1st year. Bearing that in mind, I thought I’d share a few tips and tricks based on my experience, that could help you during your student life. Halls is not a bad idea The standard process regarding accommodation at uni means that you spend your 1st year in halls of residence, as this is a great way to meet people and become part of the student community. Whilst most people then choose to move into private housing in 2nd year, I decided to go back into…

How to Survive with 5 Pairs of Shoes

“Shoes” (CC BY-SA 2.0) by sk8geek For those of you who love your shoes and fashion and are looking at the title of this post thinking who is she, I will state for the record that I do own more than 5 pairs of shoes. However, a) it’s winter, so that rules out wearing any form of summer shoe and b) I can’t walk in heels, which overall does limit the number of shoes I wear around this time of year. Anyway, stop rambling Megan, back to the point. On Monday morning, I was getting ready to go to my lecture and decided to wear my black patent brogues. I was just…

    What Actually is Linguistics?

“What actually is linguistics?” Gosh, if I had a pound for every time someone has asked me that question, I would be rich right now. I have mentioned on this blog several times that I study French and Linguistics at university but have never gone into much depth about what linguistics is. The simplest explanation, I guess, is that it is the science of language. I, for one, would describe it differently. Yes, there are certainly scientific elements, but overall, linguistics for me is the study of language, whether that is indeed the scientific aspects or the social/cultural side of things. Here’s what you might be studying as a linguistics…

    Hello 2018!

Hello everyone! I know it’s been a ridiculously long time since I have blogged, or even posted on social media, but it’s 2018 and time to change that! You may all be wondering what I have been up to these past few months, so I am going to give you a summary that hopefully will not go on for too long! 1. Summer If you follow my Instagram page, you will have noticed a couple of posts documenting my Cornwall holiday back in July. It was lovely to get away for a couple of weeks and, needless to say, most of the places we visited were dependent on where Poldark…

    If We Were Having Tea…

I think an interesting type of post to read at the moment is one of those ones entitled ‘If We Were Having Coffee’. I love getting to know bloggers more and they are a brilliant way of writing totally random things that wouldn’t always fit into your blog categories. It is for these reasons that I wanted to share my own version with you. First of all, we would be having tea, not coffee, because tea is amazing. If we were having tea, it would be a proper traditional huge mug of English Breakfast tea. I can’t be doing with fruit or herbal teas, I even struggle with Earl Grey, but…

    All about #BlogConLDN

Yeah, you’ve probably already guessed it. Here is my #BlogConLDN post! As explained in my YouTube video (yes, I’ve done a video), this blog post is about the event itself, and you can see my haul of all the goodies I managed to collect on my video which I will post. I cannot even remember how I came across #BlogConLDN, but I booked my ticket in October. I was pretty keen! I knew I wanted to go to a blogger event, but a lot of them are in London, which is hard for me to get to, and if I was going to go to one, it needed to be…

    My Top 3 Eyecreams

Wow this is impressive of me! By the time Thursday comes around I’m usually so unorganised and never get round to posting. I have not reviewed anything in a while, but when I was putting my makeup on yesterday, I realised that I had 3 eyecreams that I swap between and thought why not review them?! Considering how ridiculously pale I am and how dark my under eyes can look, I am surprised that I only started using eyecreams in the past few months. I will admit that I did not buy any of these products. I got the Clinique Pep-Start way back in September at the Clinique pop-up event…
