Reflecting on 2 Years of Blogging

I’m back after what seems like a lifetime. Over the past few weeks, I have been busy reflecting on myself as a blogger and working behind the scenes on Megan Elizabeth Lifestyle. Hopefully, you can notice the difference. The reason for such a change? I’ve worked as a freelance writer for about 2 years now and I wanted to join together this aspect of my life with my blog and create an all-singing, all-dancing site. I’ve also been doing some work with Marketing Voice in Leicester and my knowledge of SEO and WordPress has improved from this experience. I wanted to apply this to the blog to create a better…

    #SoberNotBoring Hearing from You #2

Hey everyone! Thank you so much for the support on Saturday’s post. It’s so nice to hear what everyone’s favourite Christmas film is. Today we’ve got some more stories from you for #SoberNotBoring. This has fallen off the radar a bit recently, so let me know if you’d like to see this content about sober living continue. Telles Nutrition Over the years I have had a lot of negative experiences of choosing not to drink – I’ve been told by bar staff that “if I didn’t drink alcohol then I’d come to the wrong place”, a guy cancelled a date because I wasn’t “appropriate” for a pub date, and I’ve…

Festive Films to Get You Ready for Christmas*

Ok, I know it’s not December yet, but that doesn’t mean we can’t get excited about Christmas, right? I’m already getting a festive feel when out and about, whether it’s seeing gifts in the shops or the Christmas decorations adorning town centres. With that in mind, I’m thinking it’s acceptable to start off the Christmas blog posts. What better way to do that than with some festive films. No doubt we all have a list of movies that are a must-watch this time of year. I love cosying up in front of the TV in my pyjamas when it’s cold outside. A mug of tea or hot chocolate wouldn’t go…

Finding Inspiration to Overcome Writer’s Block

Can’t believe it’s been a week since I last posted! Apologies for that. This viral flu thing is getting me down. What’s more, I had a case of full-blown writer’s block. I’m sure we’ve all experienced it at some point. It’s not that I don’t have content planned, but the posts are November-specific, so this last week of October proved to be difficult. Then, it hit me. Instead of not writing anything, why don’t I write about the very issue of writer’s block? It turns out there are places close to home to find inspiration to overcome writer’s block. Here are just some ideas to get that creativity back on…

    Autumn Tag | Lifestyle

Hey everyone! The past couple of days were so busy and I didn’t manage to post this on Thursday like I usually do. The lovely Louise from Sociable Events nominated me for the Autumn Tag! As I have never done this, I thought I’d give it a go. Rules: 1. List the rules for others taking part 2. Link to the creator (LaurenAnnBeauty) and the person who nominated you 3. Answer the questions below and tag 3 more bloggers to take part (I’m nominating more because why not?!) Q&A: What is your favourite thing about Autumn? The colours! The red and orange leaves look so pretty. I also like the…

Happier Thinking by Lana Grace Riva | Book Review*

Turning into a bit of a book blogger over here! About a month ago I was kindly gifted a copy of Happier Thinking by the author herself, Lana Grace Riva. As I am in a phase of reading lots of wellbeing and mental health books, I was intrigued. Happier Thinking by Lana Grace Riva Book Review The book is an easy read. There are only 50 pages, so you can sit down with a cup of tea and finish the book in one session. Lana’s style of writing is quite chatty and informal, much like blog writing, which again makes for a relaxed read. Without wanting to give too much…

The Future of My Blog- You Decide

Gosh, busy day today. I thought this post would have to go up tomorrow, but I thought I’d do a Wednesday post before the new schedule (Monday and Thursday) kicks in next week. I’m debating the future of my blog and have decided to change things around. The reason? My year abroad. Plans are really switching up a notch as I prepare to move to France at the end of September. I’m feeling a combination of excitement and nervousness right now. The Future of My Blog In an ideal world I would love to continue posting 3 times a week, but with my language assistantship and experiencing all that France…

Notes on a Nervous Planet by Matt Haig | Book Review

Hello there! Notes on a Nervous Planet by Matt Haig made a huge impact on me as you’ll know from my July favourites post. Having experienced mental health issues myself, I want to share my thoughts on why this book is a must read. I first off have to thank Ruth in Revolt. If it wasn’t for her competition on Twitter, I might not have come across this book. Yes, I received my copy for free, but buying the book won’t break the bank. On Amazon, it only costs £4 and I guarantee that it is worth far more than this. The book is quite literally life-changing. What is Notes…
