Reflecting on 2 Years of Blogging

I’m back after what seems like a lifetime. Over the past few weeks, I have been busy reflecting on myself as a blogger and working behind the scenes on Megan Elizabeth Lifestyle. Hopefully, you can notice the difference. The reason for such a change? I’ve worked as a freelance writer for about 2 years now and I wanted to join together this aspect of my life with my blog and create an all-singing, all-dancing site. I’ve also been doing some work with Marketing Voice in Leicester and my knowledge of SEO and WordPress has improved from this experience. I wanted to apply this to the blog to create a better…

Random Facts About Me – Blogger Q&A

Happy weekend everyone! The lovely Emma from Emma’s Jots tagged me in the Random Facts About Me Q&A. As the questions are so good, I couldn’t resist. I’ve tagged a few bloggers at the end of the post. However, if you’re up for the challenge or in need of a blog post idea, then just take the plunge and have a go! All you need to do is answer these questions. It’s time to take on the Random Facts About Me Q&A: When was the last time you cried? Honestly, I can’t remember. I’m not a huge crier. There are times I might want to cry, when I’m having a…

5 Things I Have Learnt from 2nd Year

If there’s something that I noticed more than anything during my 2nd year at uni, it is how different it was compared to my 1st year. Bearing that in mind, I thought I’d share a few tips and tricks based on my experience, that could help you during your student life. Halls is not a bad idea The standard process regarding accommodation at uni means that you spend your 1st year in halls of residence, as this is a great way to meet people and become part of the student community. Whilst most people then choose to move into private housing in 2nd year, I decided to go back into…

    What Actually is Linguistics?

“What actually is linguistics?” Gosh, if I had a pound for every time someone has asked me that question, I would be rich right now. I have mentioned on this blog several times that I study French and Linguistics at university but have never gone into much depth about what linguistics is. The simplest explanation, I guess, is that it is the science of language. I, for one, would describe it differently. Yes, there are certainly scientific elements, but overall, linguistics for me is the study of language, whether that is indeed the scientific aspects or the social/cultural side of things. Here’s what you might be studying as a linguistics…

    My 2018 Wellness Goals

I’m doing it. A second post for 2018. So far, the blogging is looking good. I will admit this post is not about me having a fitness journey and gaining rock hard abs or avoiding eating chocolate. Let’s be realistic here, that will never happen. I would like to talk to you about what has now become my New Year’s resolution, albeit starting a bit later in January. Over the past few weeks, I have had my January exams, which means head down revising and made all the more stressful knowing that 2nd year counts towards my degree. By the time my exams actually came around, I felt fairly confident…

    Hello 2018!

Hello everyone! I know it’s been a ridiculously long time since I have blogged, or even posted on social media, but it’s 2018 and time to change that! You may all be wondering what I have been up to these past few months, so I am going to give you a summary that hopefully will not go on for too long! 1. Summer If you follow my Instagram page, you will have noticed a couple of posts documenting my Cornwall holiday back in July. It was lovely to get away for a couple of weeks and, needless to say, most of the places we visited were dependent on where Poldark…

All About Eyewear: Glasses vs Contacts

It has been a while since I have done a fashion post, although this is also crossing over the border into beauty, but I thought I would write about something I do not tend to read about, but that is a big part of my everyday life. The whole glasses and contact lenses dilemma. I have been asked quite a few times over the years if I will ever wear contact lenses. Honestly, I have never felt the need to wear contact lenses, but that does not mean that I do not think about the pros and cons of both. I have had glasses since I was around three, so…

    If We Were Having Tea…

I think an interesting type of post to read at the moment is one of those ones entitled ‘If We Were Having Coffee’. I love getting to know bloggers more and they are a brilliant way of writing totally random things that wouldn’t always fit into your blog categories. It is for these reasons that I wanted to share my own version with you. First of all, we would be having tea, not coffee, because tea is amazing. If we were having tea, it would be a proper traditional huge mug of English Breakfast tea. I can’t be doing with fruit or herbal teas, I even struggle with Earl Grey, but…
