Hello everyone! Over the summer, I found myself wearing less makeup and focusing on my skincare routine. I don’t know about you, but I swear that whenever I research skincare, the results are always different. There’s always a different order to apply products and something you should/shouldn’t include. Combining various articles and YouTube tutorials, this is my current skincare routine featuring a few favourites of mine.
*Disclaimer: Some of these products may have been gifted in collaboration with a brand, or free from an event. I will mark these products with an (*). I will always give an honest opinion of a product.
My Skincare Routine
Simple Purifying Cleansing Lotion
Number 1 is cleanser, unless you are wearing makeup, then makeup remover is required. I love Simple’s products as they are really affordable. I prefer cream cleansers as they feel like they moisturise my skin more rather than foaming cleansers.
Sukin Revitalising Facial Scrub (Once a week)
Sukin is a more recent discovery of mine (and my mum’s)! Whilst products are more expensive than Simple, if you’re lucky TKMaxx and Homesense are great sources of Sukin and the prices are lower. The facial scrub is exfoliating goals, and the beads are biodegradable. What’s more, the beads are small and quite spread out, so it doesn’t feel the product is rough on your skin, which some exfoliators can feel like.
Simple Soothing Facial Toner
If you’re busy and don’t have much time for a skincare routine, cleansing and toning are musts in my opinion. Whilst cleansing opens pores to remove any dirt, toner then shrinks them to stop anymore dirt getting trapped. I love the refreshing feeling of toner too and it leaves my skin feeling refreshed.
Exuviance Rejuvenating Treatment Masque (Once a week) *
I discovered Exuviance at #BlogConLDN in 2016. I’m so impressed by the face mask, and it feels really hydrating. It’s a gel mask, so you can peel it off or rinse with water.
Liz Earle Skin Repair Moisturiser*
I’m so glad I went to the Liz Earle Bloggers Event at Fosse Park, as I wouldn’t have found this moisturiser otherwise! It’s worth the money as a little goes a long way, and Liz Earle is a great brand when it comes to natural skincare.
Eyewake Collagen Gel*
A downside to being ridiculously pale like I am, is that dark circles show up so much more. I was recently contacted by Eyewake and asked if I would like to give their collagen gel a go, and I have to say so far so good. Although the consistency is more of a liquid, than a gel, my undereye are does feel more hydrated and rejuvenated. On the whole, the ingredients are really natural too, which is a bonus.
