Happy weekend everyone! The lovely Emma from Emma’s Jots tagged me in the Random Facts About Me Q&A. As the questions are so good, I couldn’t resist.
I’ve tagged a few bloggers at the end of the post. However, if you’re up for the challenge or in need of a blog post idea, then just take the plunge and have a go! All you need to do is answer these questions.
It’s time to take on the Random Facts About Me Q&A:
When was the last time you cried?
Honestly, I can’t remember. I’m not a huge crier. There are times I might want to cry, when I’m having a bad mental health day, but the tears don’t physically come. When I had my bad spell of panic attacks in 2015, I cried a lot. Saying that, anytime I watch Les Misérables I have tears in my eyes, so maybe I am a crier?
If you were another person, would you be a friend of yourself?
I’d like to think so.
Do you use sarcasm a lot?
I am sad to report that yes, yes I do.
What’s the first thing you notice about people?
Personality. Whilst what they look like is the first thing you physically see, personality is more important.
Scary movie or happy endings?
Happy endings all the way. I hate horror films. The only one I can remember watching is The Woman in Black because I was intrigued to see Daniel Radcliffe’s first film since Harry Potter, like a lot of people. It was a mistake. I was terrified. I’m a big scaredy cat though. When I was little, I had to leave the cinema when Finding Nemo was on. Ironically it wasn’t the sharks that frightened me, it was the turtles (definitely a Random Fact About Me)!
Melted chocolate. I’m a massive chocoholic.
What’s the furthest you’ve ever been away from home?
With my parents, probably Cyprus or Lanzarote. On my own, France. I did a week’s work experience in Lille and I’m going on my year abroad to France soon.
Do you have any special talents?
Yes, I get clumsier with age. It’s quite a skill.
Where were you born?
Leicester Royal Infirmary. I have lived in the same home since birth and in my opinion, it’s the best place ever. The thought that it might not be my home one day is unbelievably upsetting.
What are your hobbies?
Blogging/writing definitely. In recent years, I have become a collector of sea glass and Dave Thompson postcards. I also love genealogy. The trouble is my mum and I have researched our family tree and can go no further. If anyone wants their family history researching, just give me a shout. I feel like there’s a misconception that family history is only for older people. I think it’s fascinating though. I’ve learnt so much from it, from improved history and geography knowledge, to finding out where I come from.
What did you want to be when you grew up?
A variety of professions. Beautician/hairdresser, chef, and writer have all been in the mix. Writing still very much is.
How many countries have you been to?
10 countries officially (England, Wales, Scotland, Republic of Ireland, France, Spain, Norway, Austria, Croatia and Cyprus), 1 unofficially (I crossed the German border when down a salt mine in Austria), and 2 Spanish-owned islands (Lanzarote and Majorca).
What was your favourite/ worst subject at school?
Physics was the worst by far. I still don’t get it. Favourite subjects were languages and English Language. I did French, German, and Mandarin as my options for GCSE. I kept Mandarin and French for AS/A Levels but stopped Mandarin when my MH got bad. French and English Language made a big impact on me and were significant reasons for me choosing French and Linguistics at university.
What is your favourite drink?
A good cup of tea. Weird as I used to hate it, but overnight came to love it. There’s something so comforting about tea.
What would you (or have you) named your kids?
I’m not sure. I’ll think of a name I like, but then I change my mind. I guess I’ll only know when I have children.
Who are some of your favourite YouTubers?
Right now, I’m loving bullet journaling YouTubers (is that a phrase?). AmandaRachLee and Blush and May are some of my favourites.
How many boyfriends have you had?
Favourite memory from childhood?
I don’t think I could pick just one.
How would you describe your fashion sense?
I want to say sophisticated. I feel I’m drawn towards more simple, classic pieces. Then again, when I get home, I usually change into pyjamas or tracksuits. Comfort comes first for me. That’s why I barely ever wear high heels (that, and the fact that I can’t walk in them).
Tell us one of your bad habits?
I bite my nails, especially when I’m anxious.
That’s it from me!
I’d love these fellow bloggers take on the Random Facts About Me Q&A:
