June 2018 Favourites

Welcome to my attempt at keeping a regular monthly feature on the blog! After my May 2018 Favourites post, I am now having a look back at June, a month that has flown by. Despite the time disappearing before me, I still realised that I had a few favourites this month which I couldn’t ignore.

Blogging
Kind of an obvious one, but it’s true! After not blogging for months on end in 2017, then posting once in a blue moon in early 2018, I have really regained the blogging love!
First and foremost, my reason for blogging is writing. I absolutely love writing, and whilst my freelance work is so interesting, and it challenges me to write to the best of my ability, I like to keep my own corner of the internet to express my own thoughts.
June has been a comeback month for me, and I am enjoying pushing myself to see where this journey goes. The support from the blogging community is incredible. One of my main aims is to increase my engagement on social media and read more blogs as a way to say thank you, but also to discover the likeminded people out there. Even just this past month, lots of new bloggers have come to my attention and they are such a lovely bunch!
As it’s the summer holidays for me, I am making the most of my time, planning ahead with my blog, scheduling tweets, and posting new Instagram content every day. The rewards are already starting to show.
Bullet Journal

Starting a bullet journal has played a key part in keeping myself organised, especially when it comes to blogging. Whilst there are plenty of gorgeous planners out there in the shops, few of them lend themselves to blogging. I would always end up adding extra sections or changing the layout of a page. I had previously been too scared to start a bullet journal, under the impression you need to be a master of brush calligraphy and have a dreamy YouTube channel to do it. This, as I have discovered, is not the case, and I am enjoying getting creative and being organised at the same time! You can read more about my bullet journal story here.
Tombow Dual Brush Pen

Sticking with the bullet journal theme, stationery lovers, I can’t even begin to tell you how much you need these in your life. I decided to buy the Tombow Dual Brush Pens after extensive bullet journal research and the purchase was worth it! I only have the black pen at the minute but will be treating myself to more colours in the future. The two different pen ends are ideal, whether you want to do calligraphy or normal writing. They’re not the easiest item of stationery to track down, but Amazon do sell them (what would I do without that website?!).
Skinkissed Vitamin C Serum

As you will have seen from my Instagram, I’ve been doing a collaboration with Skinkissed! The serum is so good. I have been using it for nearly 2 weeks now, and my skin feels more hydrated, which is ideal during the UK heatwave! A little goes a long way too, so it’s worth spending the money and treating yourself.
Maybelline Super Stay 7 Days Gel Nail Colour

I first came across the nail polish in April 2017, when I was looking for a neutral pink polish to go with my outfit for my cousin’s wedding. On my mission to find said nail polish, I found this beautiful Rose Poudré shade from Maybelline, and it’s honestly my favourite nail polish ever! The Stay 7 Days is no lie, and when I apply two coats, it usually stays for around 2 weeks! Well done Maybelline!
That’s a wrap on the June 2018 favourites! What will be July’s?
Let me know if there’s something you haven’t been able to live without this past month!

I love seeing what other people have been loving! I have been really into reading lately. I mean, I read all the time anyway but I’ve been really into what I’ve been reading lately, so much so that I struggle to put my book down! I have to admit though I struggled with my bullet journal, I gave it a few attempts but just gave up on it. I think I struggled with the mindset that it has to be beautiful, plus I prefer something a little more structured.

Nooo don’t give up! I’m keeping mine very minimalist as I’m not the best minimalist and it’s become more and more messy and filled with my scribbles! It’s a way to keep organised with a layout that suits you. It can be really structured if you want xx

June absolutely flew by for me as well, I can’t believe that this year is already halfway over!! It’s crazy! It sounds like you had a really positive month, especially on the blogging front! Well done you for getting so many posts out, I’m sure you’ll be killing it even more now you’ve got time during the summer holidays! I tried bullet journalling once but I spent more time colouring it in than actually using it as a journal haha, I need to pick it up again! I really want to invest in some new nail colours for my holiday next week so I’ll have to check out Maybelline’s range!

I’m so glad you’ve got your blogging mojo back, that’s wonderful. I started a BuJo in February and it’s been so helpful for blogging purposes, I don’t know how I managed before, haha. That Maybelline colour is gorgeous, I’m always looking for a perfect nude shade and this one is perfect – time to go shopping! x
