There are so many Christmas movies now, that knowing which ones to watch can be very hard. Of course, there are the family friendly films such as Elf, The Grinch and Miracle on 34th Street, which focus on the fantasy side to Christmas.
However, Love Actually is still my absolute favourite. I sat down and watched it again yesterday, and even after seeing the film so many times, Love Actually still manages to make me happy, sad and Christmassy all at the same time.
I like the fact that it is more believable and you can relate to the characters, so really feel for them when something emotional happens. Emma Thompson crying in front of the mirror, Laura Linney not being with the man she loves and Andrew Lincoln and Keira Knightley standing outside with white card leave you sobbing uncontrollably.
On a more humorous note, you cannot watch Love Actually without laughing heartily at Hugh Grant’s amazing dancing skills or beaming at the surprise wedding rendition of All You Need Is Love.
I guess you can also say that Love Actually has an element of mystery to it as well, because simply working out how all the characters are connected takes time!
There is no denying Love Actually is one of the best festive films out there, if not just one of the best films! It has everything in it which you could possibly wish for, and is a film to be enjoyed by everyone.
