Christmas Decorations
Hello everybody! I am not calling this a Blogmas post, as I have decided to do Vlogmas instead. However, it is that time of year when we are getting festive and going all out on the decorations. This year in my house though, I feel that it is noticeably more subtle. Of course, we have all the usual Christmassy delights such as the tree, tinsel and lights, but there is a more sophisticated feel.
We have waved goodbye to the tacky decorations that were no doubt picked out by me and my brother when we were three, and instead are sticking to the neutral tones that already fill the living room.
It would not be Christmas though, without some novelty aspect. We arranged our beautiful Santa and Snowman to look quite at ease with one another. I like to think of them as sweet, not trashy.
The Christmas tree is always the main feature. Our humble tree has been in our family for as long as I can remember, and I have to say it is still doing us proud. I am also not keen on buying real trees every year, despite their gorgeous appearance as it is surely better for the environment to not cut thousands, if not millions of trees down.
Taking a decent photo of the whole tree is hard because we put ours in front of the window, so lighting can be a bit of an issue. However, I have captured a few close ups of some of my favourite decorations.
Considering our tree is at least 18 years and counting, I don’t think it looks too bad.
These two decorations I am completely in love with:
Hope you are all enjoying decorating your homes with lots of lovely things. Thinking I might do a Christmas table ideas post too, so look out for that later in the week!
With lots of festive love,
Megan x
