Okay, so I know I said I would be writing about The Girl on the Train, but I felt like that was a bit late! Instead, I will be sharing my short and sweet opinion about a new release that most people are probably interested in which is Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
This extension of the Harry Potter world gives an insight into the history of the magical world, set in 1920s New York, following the adventures of Newt Scamander as he searches desperately to find his magical creatures, which have escaped.
The main thing I would say is do not go along expecting to watch a Harry Potter film. There are no shots of the Hogwarts Great Hall with Dumbledore giving a powerful speech. Although both are mentioned a few times.
No, this film, adapted from J.K. Rowling’s publication of Harry Potter’s magical creatures textbook, offers a new spin on the world of magic, taking you abroad to visit the life of witches and wizards across the world.
You may find it weird at first, not having the same setting or much-loved characters, but once the Warner Bros. logo comes on screen with the faint Harry Potter soundtrack in the background, you know you are in for a magical treat. The familiar spells and anecdotes, in addition to new creatures and curiosities will easily drag you back into that world and further your addiction. This is definitely one to watch!
